Discovery and Kickoff
Prepare your goals, systems and decision-makers, then confirm the work, responsibilities, costs and next steps for your CNX engagement.
Kickoff turns your business goals into an agreed scope. CNX and your business confirm what needs doing, who is responsible and how you will assess progress.
Who should join
Bring the person responsible for the business outcome and anyone whose area is in scope. Include the people who can approve budgets, contracts or material changes.
Confirm your CNX contact and the participants for your engagement. A plan label does not promise a fixed headcount or a particular executive at every meeting.
What to prepare
- A short list of current problems and desired outcomes.
- Your existing marketing plan, if there is one.
- Your brand assets, website and relevant systems.
- Current tool, provider and advertising costs.
- Known deadlines, locations and access constraints.
You do not need a polished technical specification. Bring enough context to agree what is useful and achievable.
What to agree
Scope and priorities: the deliverables, included channels and locations, capacity, revisions, dependencies and work outside the plan.
Responsibilities: Marketing Support executes an agreed plan; confirm who supplies it. Marketing Leadership adds ongoing direction and priorities. Foundation's monthly strategy call remains part of the offer; confirm its purpose and exact review scope.
Approvals: you make business decisions about budgets, contracts, production proofs and material changes. CNX remains accountable for agreed delivery and quality.
Working rhythm: your contacts, communication method, checkpoints and how scope changes will be handled. Confirm timing for your engagement rather than assuming a standard number of days.
Billing and ownership
The Architecture Kickoff Fee funds initial discovery and planning and is invoiced separately from the monthly subscription. Confirm the amount due now, invoice sequence and recurring start. Provider and usage charges, advertising spend, and supplier or production costs are separate.
Ownership of qualifying customer-specific custom IP starts in month 13 of the subscription. Agree the transferable inventory, platform and third-party dependencies, and handoff process. In year two, the same plan keeps the same price; changing support and departure are separate decisions.
After kickoff
Confirm the agreed scope, responsibilities, success criteria and next steps with CNX. Raise missing or unclear details before relying on them as commitments.
