Total Cost of Ownership: Comparing Your Options
Compare actual plan, kickoff, provider, maintenance and transition costs without assuming guaranteed savings or an automatic year-two price drop.
Total cost of ownership compares the costs of operating and maintaining the systems you need over time. Compare equivalent scope and use your actual costs, rather than assuming that custom work will always cost less than a tool subscription.
Include the full cost
For your existing setup, account for subscriptions, provider usage, integrations, maintenance, internal coordination and any transition costs.
For a CNX engagement, account for:
- The monthly plan fee and separate one-time Architecture Kickoff Fee.
- Provider and usage charges, including applicable AI and phone usage.
- Advertising spend and separately paid supplier or production work.
- Other agreed costs outside the plan scope.
- Dependencies, maintenance and any transition work if you leave.
A plan fee is not an all-inclusive operating budget. Tool access, custom implementation and managed delivery are different purchases; compare the work and responsibility each option actually includes.
Use the confirmed year-two price
Ownership of qualifying customer-specific custom IP starts in month 13 of the subscription. This does not automatically reduce the monthly fee.
In year two, the same plan stays at the same price. You may choose a lower plan or leave with your transferable work. CNX maintenance ends on departure; agree the transferable inventory, dependencies and handoff process before assuming what you can operate independently.
For Foundation, 12 months at $500 plus the $1,500 kickoff fee total $7,500 in plan and kickoff fees. Continuing the same plan for another 12 months adds $6,000 in plan fees. These figures exclude the separate costs above and are not a savings forecast.
Compare scope as well as cost
Check what work each option covers, who coordinates it and who maintains it. A lower tool price does not include managed delivery unless that responsibility is part of the offer.
Review Pricing for the current fees and responsibilities. The TCO Calculator lets you explore illustrative assumptions; its result is not a quote or a guarantee of savings.
Existing client evidence
The following is an existing, client-verified export of one hospitality client's weekly online sales. It shows that client's reported sales over the displayed period. It does not establish a typical result, prove savings or isolate CNX's contribution.
